#06 – Happy New Year!
Better late than never – Better never late!
I would love to say that one of my many notes to self ‘I must get better at this’ New Years Resolutions is planning Christmas and New year better but I’m not sure I will ever get the hang of the complete mess that I manage to make of it every year! So I just wanted to pop on here and say a really big THANK YOU! Thank you to everyone that’s made this possible, to all of you for your purchases and support in the past year and a half Hide & Hammer has grown more than I thought possible when I first started making the little leather bags 3 years ago.
So as I am sitting in the workshop in complete chaos as I decided that what I really need is shelves (of course this means everything in the workshop need’s moving in order to put up the shelves) I’m awaiting the delivery of the wood needed. I thought I would write to you all. I’ve missed this creative outlet, being dyslexic I really struggle finding the creative freedom to write without the negative mental constraints.
So what have I got in store for 2020? Well you will have seen towards the end of 2019 that This is Knit in Dublin started stocking Hide & Hammer. I’m absolutely thrilled to be in their stunning shop and if you haven’t already seen the IGTV videos I urge you to check them out on their Instagram.
I’ve got a full batch of my #04’s ready to launch too! I know there are some of you that have waited a long time for these but making sure there was a good range of colours for the re-launch is very important to me. Along with the #04’s I’m working on a full rainbow of custom leather cuffs that you can wear on your wrists or use as a shawl cuff… Very excited about these especially the colour range… There’s something about the bright colours in these grey January days that’s very appealing to me at the moment. These colours will soon be filtering through to the handles on the #03’s & #04’s soon for some special editions… Now that I’m very excited about!!
Over the Christmas period I’ve received some messages about the one off bag I made for my friend Aleks in the monster print last year… I am looking at doing more collaborations and one off’s possibly for charity or alike but I’ve not settled on a charity or organisation yet. Small batch runs of bags in funky fabric are so much fun to make!
Wishing you all a very happy new year whatever your goals or ambitions this year I wish you a very happy healthy and all round brilliant year!
