#12 Azuma Bukuro
I received a really interesting email from a lovely customer explaining to me why my use of the term ‘bento bag’ was incorrect. I’m so great full to her for taking the time to educate me on this and you may have already read my email on the subject. To re-cap a bento bag is a bag carrying your bento (Sounds simple right?… bento is a term used for food as I understand it) and so the correct term for these triangular tie top bags is “Azuma Bukuro” which means just that – “Triangular tie top bag” perfect!
In response to the great support that I’ve received through release it the original videos I have put together some kits using some truly beautiful linens and ikat fabrics I think you’ll really like. The kits come with a button, a sew on press stud, and the fabric needed to make a medium sized unlined azuma bukuro bag as well as full instructions on how to do this (the medium sized bag will fit your #03’s perfectly).
I’m truly amazed at the versatility of these bags, both the #03’s and the azuma bukuro bags have become a staple in my home and not just for knitting. They have so many uses and in September I’ll be releasing leather straps that can be used to attach to the points of your bag so you can use them over your shoulder should you wish to.
